Team Captain
The role of Team Captain is very important. You are the
leader of your team and ultimately you are the person to make
sure your team is ready to run in the relay.
Things to remember to do as a Team Captain:
§
Come up with a team name.
§
Register your team
online or by mail. You can download a
PDF entry
form.
§
If you register online as a Team Captain, you
can have your 11 teammates also register online as Team Members. They will
be asked to select the team name that you created and then follow the
prompts. If you register you team by mail have your teammates download a
printable registration form and mail it in to the address on the
registration form.
§
Get two vehicles that will hold 6 people.
§
Review the list of
equipment you will need for the race.
§
Recruit 3
volunteers if your team has members that live within 100 miles of the
Relay. The S2S Relay will provide information on how to submit these
individuals in July.
§ If need be, reserve a
hotel
room Thursday night in Spokane and Saturday night in Sandpoint.
§
Submit any substitutions to your team by August
5th. Changes after that are $10.
§
Review the course and legs. Determine which runners will run
which
legs.
§
Print out a copy of the
Race
Handbook for each vehicle. This contains all the leg maps,
driving directions, contest information, and race information you'll need
during the Relay.
§
Make sure you know your start time and start
location. Start times will be sent out toward the beginning of August.
Teams are sent in waves with the slowest estimated teams leaving Bear Creek
Lodge around 6:00 AM and the fastest estimated teams leaving around 11:00
AM.
§
Plan to arrive at the start line at least 30 minutes before
your scheduled start time.
§
During your race please make sure all
rules and regulations are strictly
followed.
§
Have Fun and Please be Safe.
