CDA to Sandpoint Walkers,

 On behalf of the entire Race Staff we would like to welcome you to what we believe is one of the most scenic, engaging, and adventurous Walk Relay Races in the great Northwest.  In addition to breath-taking scenery and excellent running locations, we believe that this race will provide a real opportunity for team bonding!  We also believe that you’re going to enjoy your stop at Silverwood Theme Park and get a kick out of some of the fun contests along the way.  Simply put, we want this Relay to create a memorable experience for you and your friends that you can enjoy doing year after year.  The party is on us!

 In a nutshell, the Coeur d’ Alene to Sandpoint Walk Relay is a 12-person walk relay race that starts at Higgins Point along the stunning shores of Lake Coeur d’ Alene and progresses through some truly unique places to walk including waterfront areas, forested areas, cities and rural farming areas until finishing at City Beach Park in  beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho.  Each walker will complete 3 legs varying in distances from 3-7 miles.  The majority of the legs are fairly flat with less than 100 feet net elevation difference.  What is unique about this Walk Relay is that walkers will never be alone as each walker pairs with another teammate from their squad to complete all 3 of their Legs!  We have intentionally designed the Walk Relay to be a fun, social experience. 

 Volunteers will man all leg exchanges.  Please extend your thanks as you meet them along the course!  At all Major Exchanges (3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18) there will be race services available as well as ample space to lay out and stretch!  There are sections along the route where you can swim or wade into some cool refreshing lakes and rivers if you choose to.  Food and gas services are available at many of the towns you’ll race through.
