About the Cascade Lakes Race Group

There are lots of relays to choose from, but Cascade Relays are different. We are a small, family-run business with the mission to provide exceptional race experiences, while supporting the communities we run through. We prioritize rural courses, local vendors & businesses, personal relationships and supporting local non-profits. You’ll get to know your Race Directors – Scott & Carrie Douglass – through communication throughout the year and out on the race course. You’ll get a friendly check-in from Carrie and a starter’s high-five from Scott every time. Our staff and volunteers embody the spirit of our company – safety, fun and competition. Join the Cascade Relays family!

Have a question, comment, opportunity or other cool idea we’ve just got to hear about? Email us at info at cascaderelays.com.

<strong>Courtney Ulrich</strong>
Courtney UlrichAssistant Race Director & Chief Relay Rockstar

Courtney moved from Hillsboro, Oregon to Bend to be the Assistant Race Director of the Cascade Relays. Previously she worked as an Operations Director at a small non-profit. Helping those in need has always been a great passion of hers. Now she is excited to utilize her experience in all things operations and planning into her other passion: running! Even more exciting is being able to do it with a company who gives so much back to the local community. Courtney has been a life-long runner and in recent years has become a marathoner and relayer.  When she’s not training for the next race, she is playing the piano, reading, or hiking with her dog.

<strong>Brendan Dowling</strong>
Brendan DowlingAssistant Race Director of Spokane to Sandpoint

So what does running, aquatic biology, love of vowels, and LED clothing have to do with each other? Our newest Assistant Race Director! Originally from Wisconsin (yes, he drags out his vowels and says funny words like bubbler) and now living in Spokane, WA for the last 9 years, Brendan Dowling, brings a unique skill set to Cascade Relays as the new Assistant Race Director for the Spokane To Sandpoint Relay. Brendan daylights as an aquatic biologist cleaning up sediment contamination but his true passion is running. For the past seven years Brendan has been the President (Grand Poobah) of the Flying Irish Running Club based out of Spokane. With over 400 runners attending their weekly social run, the Flying Irish has become the world’s largest social running club and also World Record holder of the largest Prancercise group exercise. His passion for running, ability to organize hundreds of runners on a weekly basis, and not to mention able to enlighten others with his unique LED clothing make him a great asset to have as the Spokane To Sandpoint Relay continues to grow. If he doesn’t get you excited about running then we have no hope. Give him a shout out if you meet him and be sure to ask him what a bubbler actually is!
