LEG NOTES:

Parking, restrooms, and lots of shaded grass area in Cannon Park.  Obey traffic safety laws during this leg.  You will have stoplights at the intersections of Ash, Maple, Monroe, and Post.  Cross streets safely!  Carefully follow Race Signs in Riverfront Park.  Once reaching Exchange 10 in Mission Park the handoff will be a virtual handoff (no exchange of wrist wrap because runner 11 is across the intersection).

LEG DESCRIPTION:

AWESOME COSTUME Contest during this exciting leg.  Please pose for a race picture!  Mostly flat paved section that passes through Riverfront Park, home of the ’74 World Expo.  Very fun leg!

0.0      Depart Exchange 9 on Maxwell.

0.1    Straight through Ash intersection

0.3    Straight through Maple intersection

0.8    Straight through Monroe intersection

0.9    Straight through Post intersection

1.1    RIGHT on Howard

1.3    Straight through Boone intersection

1.5    Enter Riverfront Park and follow RACE SIGNS and CONES

1.8    Stay on paved Centennial Trail 

4.0    Arrive at Exchange 10 in Mission Park.

DRIVER DIRECTIONS:

Follow same route as runners on Maxwell.  When you reach Howard runners will take a right.  Drivers continue STRAIGHT (do not go right on Howard) and Maxwell turns into Mission.  Continue straight.  Go 1.4 miles on Mission and Exchange 10 at Mission Park will be off to your right.  Look for lots of grass and tennis courts.  Pull into parking lot at the end of Mission Park on your right hand side.  Volunteers will direct runner 11 to Virtual Handoff location.
