Directions to Start Line
The Spokane to Sandpoint Relay will begin at the Mt Spokane Main Lodge located at 29500 Mt Spokane Park Rd | Go to Van 2 Driving Directions | Go to Leg 1

Packet pickup and team check-in is located at Bear Creek Lodge on Thursday from 4 pm to 9 pm. If your team does not check-in on Thursday, check-in will be at the start line starting at 5:30 am on Friday morning.

The following items will be required for team check-in (downloadable checklist):

Two reflective vests – 1 for each van (we recommend Road Noise – reflective vest and speakers in one)
Two flashlights or headlamps – 1 for each van (we recommend Knuckle Lights)
FOUR flashing red lights – 2 for each van (one for your back and one for your front). Cheap lights will not keep you safe. Please invest in high-quality flashing lights that can be seen by cars for a mile (example from Road ID)
Participant Waiver Form with signatures of all participants**Each participant and van driver, if applicable, can sign their own form or the entire team can sign the second page of the form if you are all together before the race. All signed forms must be submitted together at the start line by the team captain or designee.
Minor Waiver Form (required for runners under the age of 18)
You will not be able to check-in without these items. NO EXCEPTIONS. You can hand over half of the safety gear at Exchange Point # 6 if Van 2 is not joining you at the start line.

Mt Spokane WILD WIG Contest. Please register your name so that you are eligible for the prizes. Winner will receive a family-4 pack of passes to Mt Spokane.

The majority of the leg is on soft trail and a trail shoe is highly recommended. Runner will descend down 1600 feet (Quad buster)

Vans may support you on this leg. This leg is paved. Use caution at the traffic circle and follow volunteer instructions. Approximately 100 yards before Yoke’s Market, you will turn on to the dirt road and run behind Yoke’s Market to the exchange.

You may support your runner on this leg. Approximately 100 yards before Yoke’s Market, your runner will turn left onto a dirt road. Vans proceed straight on E Spokane Dr and turn left into the main parking lot. Exchange is on the SW corner of the parking lot.

Vans may support you on most of this leg.  There are a couple of sections of trail where the runner is not supported. This leg is paved. Use all pedestrian crossing signals to safely cross streets. There is an important turn from the trail to Hope Ln.

Van notes:
You may support your runner on most of this leg. At mile 4.8, you rejoin your runner after their having been on a trail. You may want to turn left on Hope Rd to ensure your runner made the turn correctly. Parking is at Sontag Park, with overflow parking available down the street at the school on the right.

The drive from Exchange #6 at Sontag Park to Exchange #12 at Mirabeau Meadows Park will take approximately 41 minutes. Go to Leg 13

Runners averaging 9 minute miles will take approximately 3 hours and 47 minutes to reach the end of leg #12.  Mirabeau Meadows is a wonderful spot to stretch out and enjoy the day. There are also plenty of opportunities to pick up provisions you may need.

S2S Trivia:
In 2002, local artist David Clemons designed and installed two statues to sit at either end of the Centennial Trail. “Leopold”, an 1890 photographer, sits at Higgins Point and “Kate”, a turn of the 19th to 20th century bicyclist sits at the state border. Clemons’ concept was to capture individuals 100 years ago enjoying the same activities on the trail as they do today.

This is a partially unsupported leg. You may want to carry water with you. The first 0.2 mi of this leg backtracks the final 0.2 mi of Leg #15. Runners coming towards you are behind your team. All runners should be on the same side of the road to allow traffic to pass.

This leg crosses many roads. Watch for signs and cross intersections with care.

S2S Trivia:
Post Falls is named for Frederick Post, a German immigrant who constructed a lumber mill along the Spokane River in 1871 on land he purchased from Andrew Seltice, Chief of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe. The purchase of the land is preserved in a pictograph in Treaty Rock Park.

This is a mostly unsupported leg. You may want to carry water with you. Runners from teams ahead of you will be running in the opposite direction for the last .7 mi of this leg, as the last part of leg #21 is also on this section. 

Use extreme caution at .9 miles to cross safely at the intersection/crosswalk at E Seltice Way to reconnect with the Centennial Trail. At 4.7 mi, the Centennial Trail intersects the Prairie Trail (at the road underpass) and you will turning RIGHT toward Riverstone Park.

A bicycle pacer/shadow is allowed on this leg. Please do not run/ride side by side for the first mile while on Ponderosa Rd and Ross Point Rd.

The drive from Exchange #18 at City Beach Park to Exchange #24 at Timberlake High School will take approximately 38 minutes.

Runners averaging 9 minute miles will take approximately 5 hours and 15 minutes to reach the end of leg #24.  Timberlake High School will have showers available as well as a quiet sleeping area so you can rest before your last set of legs.

Directions from Ex #30 to Finish
The drive from Exchange #30 at Priest River High School to the finish at City Beach in Sandpoint will take approximately 29 minutes.

Runners averaging 9 minute miles will take approximately 4 hours and 23 minutes to reach the finish line.  Priest River High School has showers available as well as a quiet sleeping area, while City Beach Park at Sandpoint has the beach, swimming, finish line food and the beer garden. Showers are available in Sandpoint at the Sandpoint West Athletic Club for $2.50.

Van #1 must find parking on the city streets or at the city lot at the corner of Church St and 3rd Ave. Parking at City Park is reserved for Van #2.

Spokane to Sandpoint Relay Finish Line
Van #1 must find parking on city streets or in the city parking lot on the corner of Church St and 3rd Ave.

You’ll enjoy beer from Laughing Dog Brewery and Good Life Brewing, food from Trinity Beach, music and more at the finish line. We invite you to kick back and enjoy a beautiful day on the lake.
