Directions to Start Line
The Spokane to Sandpoint Relay will begin at the Mt Spokane Main Lodge located at 29500 Mt Spokane Park Rd | Go to Van 2 Driving Directions | Go to Leg 1

Packet pickup and team check-in is located at Bear Creek Lodge on Thursday from 4 pm to 9 pm. If your team does not check-in on Thursday, check-in will be at the start line starting at 5:30 am on Friday morning.

The following items will be required for team check-in (downloadable checklist):

Two reflective vests – 1 for each van (we recommend Road Noise – reflective vest and speakers in one)
Two flashlights or headlamps – 1 for each van (we recommend Knuckle Lights)
FOUR flashing red lights – 2 for each van (one for your back and one for your front). Cheap lights will not keep you safe. Please invest in high-quality flashing lights that can be seen by cars for a mile (example from Road ID)
Participant Waiver Form with signatures of all participants**Each participant and van driver, if applicable, can sign their own form or the entire team can sign the second page of the form if you are all together before the race. All signed forms must be submitted together at the start line by the team captain or designee.
Minor Waiver Form (required for runners under the age of 18)
You will not be able to check-in without these items. NO EXCEPTIONS. You can hand over half of the safety gear at Exchange Point # 6 if Van 2 is not joining you at the start line.

 

At the start line, you will receive:

Race Bibs with your team name
2 van signs for each van to designate your team #
1 timing bracelet for each van (“baton” […]

Directions from Start to Leg #6
The drive from the start line at Mt Spokane to Exchange #6 at Sontag Park will take approximately 1 hour. Go to Start Line Directions | Go to Leg 7

Runners averaging 9 minute miles will take approximately 5 hours and 15 minutes to reach the end of leg #6.  Sontag Park is a wonderful spot to stretch out and enjoy the day. There are also plenty of opportunities to pick up provisions you may need.  Yoke’s Market  is at Exchange #3 and gives you a chance to shop for food.  Exchange #3 is approximately 40 minutes from Exchange #6 – teams averaging 9 minute miles will take approximately 2 hour 16 minutes to run from Exchange #3 to Exchange #6, so you would have plenty of time to stop. Runner’s Soul is located at Exchange #4 if you need any running related items.

Breakfast is also available all morning at Bear Creek Lodge. Cheer on your team and enjoy a hot meal!

S2S Trivia:
Centennial Trail History – Following the World Expo in 1974, advocates proposed a mixed-use pathway along the river. Citizens in Washington and Idaho expanded the idea in 1986 by joining forces and suggesting a much longer trail that could be completed in time to celebrate the respective state centennials of Washington (1989) and Idaho (1990).

This leg is partially unsupported, so runners may want to carry water. This leg is paved. Runners will have to stop at the intersections of Ash, Maple, Monroe and Post – cross streets safely and obey all traffic lights. Follow race signs through Riverfront Park to stay on course.

This is the Brewhouse costume contest leg through Riverfront Park – have fun and whoop it up!

The drive from Exchange #12 at Mirabeau Meadows Park to Exchange #18 at Coeur d’Alene’s City Beach Park will take approximately 29 minutes.

Runners averaging 9 minute miles will take approximately 4 hours to reach the end of leg #18.  City Beach Park is a great place to relax and cheer on the other teams who are running leg #19.  Showers are available at Peak Health & Wellness Center at 940 W Ironwood Ave between 5 am and 10 pm.

This is an unsupported leg. You may want to carry water with you. This leg runs through Coeur d’Alene at night, so watch carefully for race signs and flashing red lights. People do occasionally steal the red lights, so you may wish to take a map with you just in case.

A bicycle pacer/shadow is allowed on this leg. Be aware of other runners and cyclists on the trail.

S2S Trivia:
CDA was established in 1844 and has a population of approximately 44,000. The lake is 25 miles long.The city is named after the Coeur d’Alene people, a tribe of American Indians who lived along the lakes and rivers of the region when discovered by the French Canadian fur traders in the late 18th and early 19th century.

Spokane to Sandpoint Relay Finish Line
Van #1 must find parking on city streets or in the city parking lot on the corner of Church St and 3rd Ave.

You’ll enjoy beer from Laughing Dog Brewery and Good Life Brewing, food from Trinity Beach, music and more at the finish line. We invite you to kick back and enjoy a beautiful day on the lake.
